Gasoline

I am gasoline, unstable
Dark fuel to which sparks are lures
As lambs to wolves,
Lily-white necks to lovers,
Wolves to lambs.

Pour yourself over me,
Hot breath and liquid fire.
Our chemistry is perfect,
Combustion is inevitable
And glorious.

Pure energy dances
Into the dark
At our new borders,
Meeting places and
Tentative meldings.

Rinse me of impurities
With your own,
Purge us of darkness
And light the polluted
Spaces that we inhabit.

Let us engage
In beautiful destruction,
Transition and reincarnation;
Sacred flames are those
Exempt from consecration.
